Combat-proven Tactical Voice Communications System is Expanding

Springfield, Virginia – July 29, 2014:  The Tactical Voice Communications System (TVCS) developed by Cornet Technology, Inc. (CTI) is a key component of a fielded command and control (C2) system managing aircraft flying in support of combat operations. Originally fielded in 2009 in the Battlespace Command and Control Center (BC3) employed by the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) for airspace management in the Arabian Gulf region, Iraq, and Afghanistan; the TVCS fuses secure / unsecure telephones, tactical radios, and crew intercom that enables airmen, Joint, and coalition mission crewmembers to conduct air surveillance and C2 operations. An advanced version of the TVCS is being integrated into the next generation BC3 v2.0 that will soon be operational in an undisclosed location in the Arabian Gulf area.

Building on the demonstrated combat effectiveness of the BC3’s TVCS; the Air Force Lifecycle Management Center (AFLCMC), Hanscom Air Force Base, Massachusetts announced the successful completion of its test of the AN/TRC-213 v3.2.  The TVCS is a key component of this mobile communications interface system that provides the USAF ground-based Control and Reporting Center (CRC) with access to over thirty-five distributed tactical UHF, VHF, HF, and SATCOM radios within any given combat theater.
"With a radar-based C2 system providing ‘eyes-on’ all Air Force, Joint, and Coalition aircraft movements in any area of operations, a 24/7/365 communications capability is what puts the teeth in operational C2,” said Wanda Whiteman, CTI’s TVCS project lead. “The Air Force is better able to manage airspace over a combat area when they can simultaneously provide direction to an aircraft, coordinate with supporting agencies over secure telephone, and keep BC3 and CRC mission crew leadership aware of the operation through secure intercom.”

Nat Kumar, CEO of Cornet Technology, Inc., conveyed the following, “The pride my employees feel when they interact with a young airman who conveys the value of the TVCS is profound. When troops-in-contact require immediate air support, the TVCS is the system used to put out the call and move the air assets to-the-fight; that motivates us every single day.”

The BC3 was designed, built, tested, and delivered in less than a year by a team of contractors working for the US Navy Space Warfare Systems Center – Atlantic and the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Battle Lab using Global War on Terrorism funding.

Cornet Technology, Inc. (CTI) Celebrates its 25th Anniversary

Company marks 25 years of designing, engineering, and manufacturing innovative communication solutions

Springfield, VA – January 31, 2014 - Cornet Technology, Inc. a leading provider of voice, video, and data communications solutions, is pleased to announce that January 31, 2014 will mark the 25th anniversary of its founding.

25 years ago Cornet Technology, Inc. (originally Cornet, Inc.) founder Nat Kumar envisioned a company that would produce state-of-the art products for large commercial clients such as banks and other financial institutions as well as government agencies here and abroad. In the early days the company provided sales, maintenance, installation, integration, modification, and repair of digital switching systems to the global enterprise market. As the Company’s reputation for providing sound solutions grew, customers began to ask for custom-built equipment leading to the expansion of in-house design and manufacturing departments and the introduction of the Company’s flagship switching product the MTX an innovative next generation matrix switch in 1994.

The Company entered the Defense market in 1999 with the sale of a ruggedized communications switch to the U.S. Navy. In the same time frame, the company developed a line of video encoding/decoding and recording products to meet the needs of Intelligent Transportation and the military surveillance markets. As the defense business grew, CTI focused exclusively on the C4ISR and Homeland Security market leading to the development and marketing of a new family of communication and interoperability products.

Today, Nat Kumar’s vision has become a reality; CTI’s innovative video, voice, and data communication products are deployed across the spectrum of military and government operations. Over 120 U.S. Navy vessels utilize Cornet Technology communications products for off ship communications. Newer ships are utilizing the Company’s IP-communications solutions for both on and off ship communications. Other military product deployments include U.S. Air Force command/control centers, reconnaissance platforms, and numerous tech control facilities for the Army, Navy, and Coast Guard. The Company has international subsidiaries located in Japan, India, and Germany.

“Twenty-five years ago, I launched Cornet Technology, Inc. with the mindset that success will come if you continue to provide customers with innovative products that meet or exceed their exacting requirements. This mindset positively affects how we relate with our customers and has carried us through good and bad economic times,” said Founder Nat Kumar.

Kumar added: “I wish to thank Cornet Technology’s customers, employees, and vendors for their loyalty and dedication and look forward to what we can achieve in the years to come.”

Director of Business Development for Cornet Technology, Inc. Received SPAWAR Lightning Bolt “Team Excellence” Award

 SPAWAR-Awd-CTF

Springfield, VA -- April 3, 2014 — Cornet Technology, Inc. (CTI) is proud to announce that Mike Hardesty, Director of Business Development Maritime and US Navy Accounts was recognized as part of the DAMA IW/UHF SATCOM to Patrol Coastal team which received the SPAWAR Lighting Bolt “Team Excellence” award from the Commander of the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command Rear Adm. P. H. Brady. The team was comprised of personnel from program offices across the SPAWAR/PEO C4I as well as contractor personnel.

The SPAWAR Lighting Bolt Award is given quarterly in recognition of superior achievements and contributions to SPAWAR or supported PEOs.

The DAMA IW/UHF SATCOM to Patrol Coastal Team was formed to quickly address the Chief of Naval Operations request for a replacement UHF SATCOM system for forward deployed Patrol Coastal ships.   Critical to overcoming the tight time constraints was the team’s proactive approach and open communication and cooperation leading the team to successfully achieve all phases of the installation in a quarter of the normal process time.   As a result of the team’s untiring efforts and outside the box approach, PCs 2, 7, and 12 were deployed with a modernized and reliable UHF SATCOM system. The team’s effort ultimately increased the US Navy’s near-term ability to use Patrol Coastal ships to counter fast attack craft.

“We, at Cornet Technology, Inc., are proud of Mike for receiving this distinguished award from SPAWAR,” said Cornet Technology President, Tom Bennett. “CTI has a long history of working with the US Navy and are honored by this recognition of Mike’s and the other team member’s efforts.”
