Product Support Engineer

Required Skills

  • Video centric –video encoders. decoders and recorders
  • Working knowledge of various video and audio compression protocols and multiplexing schemes.
  • Deliver product demonstrations, training and engage in technical discussions to prospects, partners, and customers, thereby assisting salespersons in establishing technical credibility, qualifying prospects, and closing deals.
  • Research customer questions and needs using resources within and outside of Cornet
  • Propose solutions to prospects in the form of system diagrams, workflow diagrams, evaluation project plans, bill of materials and professional services statements of work

-    Respond to proposal requests (RFP) and information requests (RFI) in collaboration with other Cornet personnel
-    U.S Citizen, willing to travel within the country and internationally

Documentation Writer

 

 

 

 

Description:
1.    Creates hardware and software manuals for company products.  
2.    Confers with engineering and management to determine priority for writing assignments.  
3.    Confers with hardware, software and firmware engineering to determine equipment specifications and operations.  
4.    Reads equipment schematic as required to determine operation, options and configuration of equipment.  
5.    Creates necessary photographs, drawings and illustrations for manuals; Confers with drafting department for applicable CAD drawings; Converts CAD drawings to suitable format for equipment manual.  
6.    Determines layout of new manuals, based on existing design or by creating a new one.  
7.    Obtains copy of associated software and uses it to determine procedures for manual.  
8.    Interprets notes, write-ups or observations by engineering for inclusion in manual.  
9.    Writes complete manuals using all available information, based on style of existing company equipment manuals.  
10.    Analyzes product changes to determine need for revisions in previously published manuals and makes required changes.  
11.    Maintains records of work and revisions.  
12.    Produces manuals on in-house printers, including printing and assembling manual.  
13.    Produces manuals in Portable Document Format (PDF), as required, for electronic distribution.  
14.    Distributes manuals as necessary.  
15.    Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:   Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or 5 years related work experience.
