Cornet Technology, Inc. Expands its Legacy-to-IP Migration Platform with the IPGate-AC

IPGate-AC – Transitioning Legacy Equipment to IP

SPRINGFIELD, Va.--August 11, 2011 --Cornet Technology, Inc. (CTI) a leader in voice, video, and data communications and surveillance solutions, today announced the expansion of its legacy-to-IP migration platform capabilities with the introduction of the IPGate-AC. Targeted at the Defense market, the IPGate-AC has received a Joint Interoperability Test Command tracking number and is scheduled for testing in 3rd Quarter FY 2011.

The IPGate-AC is ideal for environments with an abundance of legacy equipment such as serial encryption devices, Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) tail circuits, and analog and digital radio systems. Depending on the interface, the IPGate-AC supports from 16 to 64 ports in a 3U chassis.

By routing legacy equipment to the IPGate-AC, the legacy backbone can be decommissioned offering savings in both networking and support costs. Like other platform members, it provides reliable transport of legacy circuits across converged IP networks.

Another key IPGate-AC application is long haul secure communications where the IPGate-AC routes voice communications (secure or plain) from a Command and Control center’s encryption device to a remotely located radio via satellite, land line, or a local base’s standards-based IP network.
The IPGate-AC offers advanced features such as:

  • Packet and full network redundancy.
  • A distributed architecture that allows any-to-any connectivity between devices.
  • Full tech control functionality; any-to-any connections and monitoring/testing – no patch panels required.
  • A wide variety of legacy analog and digital interfaces at data rates ranging from 50 bps to 16.34 Mbps.
  • Point-to-multipoint.
  • Configuration information stored in Flash to protect against the possibility of loss due to a power failure.

IPGate products range in size, port capacity, and redundancy options.

See the IPGate-AC at the DISA Customer and Industry Forum, Baltimore, MD Convention Center, August 15-18, 2011, booth 1602.
