Chosen for its ability to operate in harsh environments and its high quality video
Springfield, VA -- October 13, 2009 -- Cornet Technology, Inc. announced today that it has received and shipped an order from Raytheon for its iVDO 264 H.264 video encoders and decoders. The purchase supports Raytheon's Rapid Aerostat Initial Deployment (RAID) program.
The Cornet Technology's iVDO 264 encoders are hardened to withstand wide temperature fluctuations making them ideal for installation in the RAID towers or in aerostats. The iVDO 264 encoders provide excellent H.264 compression while maintaining high quality video. For the RAID contract, the iVDO 264 encoders will be used to convert analog video streams from surveillance cameras located on the top of RAID towers to digital streams for transport over IP networks. The decoders permit viewing of the video at the command posts giving field commanders added situational awareness in support of force protection.
“Designed to work in harsh environments our H.264 encoders and decoders ensure that the highest quality video will be available regardless of environment to support the intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance needs of the U.S. Military”, said Tom Bennett, President of Cornet Technology. “We are proud to be a part of the Raytheon RAID system.”
