Latest COTS offering focuses on low power consumption design
Springfield, VA -- April 21, 2008 -- Cornet Technology, Inc., a global manufacturing company of video, voice, and data communication products, today introduced its first conduction cooled VME PowerPC single board computer, the Celero™ CVME-7448ST-CC. This latest member of the Celero CVME 7448 family provides a versatile processing platform for signal intelligence applications such as image-, RADAR-, and SONAR-processing that require top of the line performance and low power consumption in rugged environments.
The Celero CVME-7448ST-CC targets the need of military VME designers for conduction cooled single board computers. By incorporating the Tundra Tsi109, the Celero CVME-7448ST-CC is able to lower power consumption, which is a significant advantage for applications operating in harsh environments where air flow cooling is not possible.
Like its sister product the CVME-7448ST, the CVME-7448ST-CC incorporates the latest DDR2 technology, that eliminates memory latency caused by pipeline blockage thus improving performance by up to 9%. Both Linux and VxWork 6.5 operating systems are supported, allowing embedded designers to port existing code and algorithms. Other features of the CVME-7448ST-CC include 512MB DDR2 SDRAM, 256MB Flash, 2 PMC sites for I/O expansion, 2 high-speed Gigabit Ethernet ports, 2 serial ports, and 2 USB 2.0 ports.
The CVME-7448ST-CC is available Q2 2008.
