Most control centers do not have enough monitors to simultaneously and continuously display all their perimeter video feeds. Even if they did, it’s physically challenging for operators to look at feeds every second and, statistically, most can’t concentrate on the screens beyond a few minutes. As a result, it is entirely possible that critical violations, occurring in the view of the cameras, could be missed.
The iVDO SmartEdge solution integrates a number of video surveillance elements into a cohesive edge-based automated surveillance system. This system peforms real-time video analysis where it makes the most sense in an iVDO IP encoder at the network's edge. When iVDO SmartEdge detects a security breach or event, it sends alarms, system alerts, and video clips to security staff giving them the infomation they need to intelligently respond to the event. At the same time it sends the same video to a storage device for future viewing.
