CTI’s Video Convergence Announces Frame Capture for iVDO Streamer 2/4 Encoders: April 18, 2005
Frame capture enables onsite creation of snap shots with faster transmission directly from the iVDO Streamer 2/4 Encoder to Web sites using fewer resourcesCTI will be demonstrating the iVDO Streamer 2/4 Encoder with enhanced frame capture capability, at booth #1227 during ITS America 2005 in Phoenix, Arizona on May 2-4, 2005.
With the added frame capture capability built into the encoders, the iVDO Streamer 2/4 Encoders create D1 resolution, JPEG format, snap shots of video streams. The images are transmitted directly to authorized Web sites for access by the public. This eliminates the extra step of creating the images at the traffic management center. By reducing the time required for an image to be created and transmitted to these public Web sites, the iVDO Streamer 2/4 Encoders provide a more accurate, up-to-the-second view of monitored roadways.
The iVDO Streamer 2/4 Encoders enable simultaneous streaming of MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 video for IP-based video systems. This dual stream capability allows users of intelligent transportation and video surveillance systems to view high-quality MPEG-2 videos while simultaneously storing low bit-rate MPEG-4 videos.
“With the frame capture capability, the iVDO Streamer 2/4 Encoders are designed to provide timely information to traffic management Web sites in a matter of seconds,” commented Ata Tursucu, senior video products manager, Video Convergence division of Cornet Technology, Inc. “By adding this capability to the iVDO Streamer 2/4 Encoders, CTI eliminates the need for organizations to purchase separate frame capture equipment to post snap shots onto a department of transportation’s public web site.”
