Manville Chan joins Cornet Technology Communications as Program Manager of Embedded Systems: January 23, 2006
Springfield, VA – January 23, 2006 – Cornet Technology Communications the communications division of Cornet Technology, Inc. has hired Manville Chan as Program Manger for its newly created Embedded Systems product line. As Program Manager, Chan will work with Sales and Engineering to drive the technical vision, design, and implementation of embedded system products, define strategy and features for all aspects of a product, and work closely with the company’s research and development, engineering, and manufacturing teams to translate product ideas into deliverable products. Mr. Chan will report to Tom Bennett president of the communications division.
Chan‘s previously held positions at Cybertrust, Inc., Compaq Computers, SBS Technologies, and Production Languages Corporation.
At Cybertrust, Inc., Chan held two positions Senior Business Analyst and Marketing Manager. In these positions he spearheaded a competitive intelligence program and provided the product management team with marketing insight and strategic support.
At Compaq Computers, he helped the Brand Protection Group to develop a global framework to combat trademark violation and product-counterfeiting activities. He also led a global task force to develop a channel strategy for refurbished and remarketed products.
At SBS Technologies, Chan held positions as European Product Line Manager and Product Marketing Manager. As Product Marketing Manager for the embedded I/O board product division, he launched new products, managed custom development contracts and key account acquisition enabling the Modular I/O division to triple the revenues in four years. During his tenure as European Product Line Manager, he helped the company to open up the European market. While at SBS, Chan was also the General Secretary at GroupIPC, a Belgium-based industry association dedicated to the embedded I/O hardware board industry.
Chan holds a BS degree in Advertising and Computer Sciences from the University of Texas at Austin, and an MBA in International Management from Thunderbird, American Graduate School of International Management, Phoenix, AZ and Geneva, Switzerland.
