CTC to Install Tech Control Switching System for United States Army at Fort Belvoir: March 28, 2006
SPRINGFIELD, VA.-- (BUSINESS WIRE) --March 28, 2006-- Cornet Technology Communications (CTC), the network communications solutions division of Cornet Technology, Inc. (CTI), today announced an order, valued at more than $1.5 million, for a Tech Control Switching System and Cross Connect Multiplexer for the United States Army at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. This is the fourth in a series of projects CTC has done for the Project Manager Defense Communications and Army Transmission Systems (PM DCATS) in support of the World Wide Technical Control Improvement Program (WWTCIP).
CTC's MTX-256 Tech Control Switching System is an automated network infrastructure management system designed to modernize the tech control center at Fort Belvoir. This system automates the switching and record keeping processes and reduces the amount of equipment and resources necessary to perform communications testing. The system also saves cost and space by replacing more than 16 cables with one fiber-optic network cable and requires only one or two standard racks replacing walls of equipment required by older technology. The SONUX 300 Cross Connect Multiplexer streamlines communications by combining multiple T1, DS1, and DS3 lines into a single high-speed OC3 or OC-48 line delivering digital cross connect switching functionality.
CTC president, Thomas Bennett, said, "Cornet Technology is pleased to provide the United States Army with the means to automate, modernize and more efficiently manage the activities and current processes at its tech control centers. We look forward to continuing to supply the automated infrastructure management products necessary to maintain this superior level of communication for the U.S. Army."
For over six years, CTC has worked with PM DCATS in Fort Monmouth, New Jersey. PM DCATS provides worldwide project management of communications transmission systems projects and other special programs. The equipment provided by CTC aids PM DCATS in supporting the WWTCIP by modernizing and automating communications and testing at tech control centers worldwide. CTC Tech Control Switching Systems are installed at Fort Detrick, Maryland and Camp Roberts, California.
