System First to Incorporate both Wi-Fi and 3G Mobile Wireless Technology in a Kit

Springfield, VA – September 17, 2009 -- Cornet Technology, Inc. announces the availability of its Watchman™ IP-based surveillance system. This wireless system meets the needs of organizations that wish to keep an eye on remote company property and mobile or stationary critical assets while avoiding the cost and inconvenience of installing wired surveillance systems. It is the first surveillance kit on the market to offer both Wi-Fi network connectivity for the cameras and 3G mobile wireless data connectivity for remote site control and monitoring. Customers are given the choice of selecting either the EV-DO or the HSPDA 3G networks.

The Cornet Technology Watchman surveillance system integrates and packages cameras (indoor or outdoor), IP65 rated rugged outdoor camera housings, wireless access points, routers, wireless modem, and an network video recorder (NVR) into a competitively priced do-it-yourself installation and management kit.

This smart security system provides site monitoring, real-time electronic event-based smart alerts, and pre-and post-event recordings for immediate review as well as later event evaluation.

The smart intrusion feature of the Watchman’s integrated video analytics automatically sends an email alert to the security personnel whenever an intruder is detected eliminating the need for constant human surveillance. To minimize false alarms, this feature can be set to detect the difference between a human intruder and an animal or wind gusts, etc.

Management of the kit is a breeze requiring no software installation. An intuitive web browser interface allows any authorized person to remotely view live or stored video and configure the analytics via a PC or smart phone.

The Watchman is targeted at markets with critical infrastructures such as utilities, telecommunications, financial services as well as vehicles carrying critical assets.
