The powerful switching fabric of Cornet Technology’s MTX family of non-blocking matrix switches allows users to gain complete control of their entire physical infrastructure and to fully automate their Physical Layer management. By leveraging the design and management of the physical layer with a matrix switch, network managers can reduce capital costs, increase the availability of all network resources, and enhance the responsiveness of the operations support team.

The peerless design of the MTX line accepts external timing via a redundant Station Clock with holdover. It handles higher data rates with control leads up to 10 Mbps, utilizes PAL (Programming Array Logic) for advanced port card technology, provides the maximum level of redundancy, performs 100% integral BER testing and supports both integral copper and fiber.

Uses:
  • Network control centers
  • Tech Control
  • Automatic switching
  • Unmanned site automation
Benefits:
  • Reduces backup costs - a pool of high speed circuits, at the central site, managed by a MTX switch can be established to support the entire network. Switching to backup lines happens automatically on an “as-needed” basis.
  • Equipment savings – by improving the ratio of backup router equipment needed.
  • Service Improvements - Fully automated control of the physical layer gives network technicians and engineers the ability to maintain precise control of all maintenance routines. Troubleshooting and fault restoration becomes a methodical, predictable, and repeatable process.

MTX-L

A single-stage, non-blocked, crosspoint architecture that provides network reliability, availability, and fault tolerance. The MTX-L’s 1,024 non-blocking matrix design enables it to switch virtually all available interfaces. These interfaces range from low speed VF to high speed digital and video applications.

MTX-2

The MTX-2 is a 32-port high-speed, non-blocking, digital matrix switch that pacts the same functionality of larger MTX series systems into a space saving 7” high chassis. The MTX-2’s single stage crosspoint switching is an efficient means of connecting any input to any output thus increasing reliability, speed, and ease of use. Since the entire “matrix engine” resides on the control/switch card, the number of cards and component are reduced.
